Hi I'm back and ready to resume my blogging career!! Not that it ever amounted to much but it's a good way to keep my hand in to writing thoughts down.
We are fine though exhausted after our biggest season in ten years. Only three weeks to go until we have our five months off so there will be plenty of time to recuperate and play and at long last we have someone to take over the hard work. We have been trying to sell the business for four years and now my son Jason and his partner Paul are coming back from Sydney and buying the Egg so a dynasty has begun! I will still be chef at night but will have much more time to do the things I love....art music and food. Denise will be able to walk away and live a life of leisure and that makes her very happy.
My plans for the winter are demolish our little house on the hill, sculpture symposium at Lochmara Lodge end of May and hopefully a jaunt through Europe making sculpture and catching up with old friends. I have a yearning to get away by myself with a small backpack and living day to day. I'm peopled out!

woohoo!
Hi Dave! Haven't forgotten about you guys (how could i). Have you met any of the friends we sent your way this year? (probably not)
Congrats on selling the place! That's great news!
So the little house on the hill is no longer for WWOOF-ers... a sad day :)
Enjoy every minute of it, now we almost have to come back one day to see what you did with the place.
(do i still own a car in NZ and do i have to pay a lot of fines when i come back? :)
Hi Dave,
what a pleasure that your are on the screen again!
And you are going to Europe! Please don't forget your friends in Berlin!
First we intented to come back to New Zealand this October. Now we are going to Australia looking for the lambs and mussels there. But they will always have to stand comparison.
Good luck for all your plans!
Petra
Hi is that you Gerben? I don't know the name Calvin. Yes the little house with so many memories has to go and the wwoofers now have to sleep with me (I've noticed a big reduction in numbers for some reason!)Your car, if it's you Gerben, has changed ownership and is well and happy and used often by carless wwoofers.
Best wishes Dave
Hey Petra and Rainer, how could I forget my good friends and I would love to come to Berlin to taste your culture. I'm not making plans just living day to day but I will keep in touch and who knows.
The Irish hat is smiling at the thought of you
Love Dave
Hi Dave,
sorry, missed that. Besides being know as Mike in some areas of NZ and as Gerben to my other friends, my internet alias is Calvin.
So yes, Gerben = Mike = Calvin.
Great to hear that the car is still making people happy!
Mirjam's first reaction to me telling her: "Dave and Denise are going to travel through Europe" was: "that's great! They're welcome!" So if when're in the neighbourhood....
What a great detective I am!! I would love to call in and see you if I'm in your area, maybe you can put me to work in your garden and feed me tea and oranges!
Love to Mirjams
Dave
